Hope for Now, Hope for the Future.
Jesus is our hope for now and all our tomorrows.
We would love you to write out and illustrate a short prayer or bible verse on… a smooth pebble!
This is a wonderful way to ‘write’ the message into your own heart – and others can be blessed by it as well.
Instantly I can hear the objections! I can’t paint! I am not an artist! Take a deep breath and read on…. The only skills you need are the ability to write, and to doodle.
For materials you need a well washed 2 – 3 inch smooth pebble
+ any waterproof markers eg Sharpies or gel pens for outlines and writing
+ waterproof acrylic paint for backgrounds and filling in flowers or doodles.
You don’t need the paint if you haven’t got any.
Write a verse or prayer and decorate it with squiggles and lines, or leave it plain. Then place your decorated stone on the edge of the entry paths to our churches during the next couple of weeks.
At Christmas we reached out to our local schools and nursing homes to ask if they would make decorations for our community Christmas trees. ‘Hope for Now, Hope for the Future’ aims to do the same. This time we invite them to decorate stones, to place along our church paths. If our stones are already in place, they will mark where others can put theirs.
Please lay your embarrassment aside and take part. It will bless you, and show the way to Christ for others. If you are shielding and want to take part please let the church know and someone will come and collect your decorated stones.
